Getting Sam through high school.

I’m getting ready to bite the bullet and prepare my curriculum for Sam’s four year high school experience! This is going to be very fluid and subject to change according to Sam’s interests and other unforseen forces. I do know that I want to investigate college credit through postsecondary school and CLEP and Advanced Placement. I think that these types of challenges will add the spark that Sam needs to reenvigorate his homeschool experience through high school!

In the meantime, I want to plot out a course in each subject to build a solid high school transcript. I’m going to attempt to plot through it every week until I have it finished this summer.

English is required all four years and I would like to break it down this way:

Year 1 English Grammar and composition. I hope to use the Bravewriter courses for this and Ambleside.
Year 2 American Literature.
Year 3 English literature.

Additional selections from Laura Berquist’s book as needed.
Year 4 Advanced placement English or post secondary.

I’m open to suggestions!
