My husband started at the Aldi stores this year after the TOPS stores in our area closed. Mr. Pete is a super shopper and can usually manage to get groceries for our family of eight for a bit over $400 a month. He goes to a number of stores, but his new favorite is Aldis.

Meredith over at Like Merchant Ships turned me on to the Aldi Queen Blog and I thought it would be fun to see if the recipes and items at Aldi really were a good deal. Turns out they were a great deal! This week I had two recipes based on the Aldi Queen’s menu and they were a big hit with my family. It was also easy for me to prepare a list for Mr. Pete to take to the store.

For a real treat, try the Mozarella patties from last week’s planner! Sam whipped these up yesterday while I was running around with the other kids. It was fun, relatively easy for a 14-year-old, and delicious!!
