Making false reports

During the Super Bowl Party I attended a few weeks ago, I had a chance to chat with a lady who worked as a case worker for Children’s Protective Services! When I heard that I had to relate to her the threat I received last summer and how disconcerting it all was.

She really set my mind at ease. First of all, they get TONS of vengence calls and false charges. They expect them. A call with a long-distance area code would have sent up tons of red flags. She also said that they don’t go out to check on people just because someone thinks they’re spending too much time on the computer, or watching t.v. etc. etc. When I told her that I have a stack of similar comments from that particular person complete with IP address, she said that would have made their job just that much easier and it probably would not have been a big issue.

In the past I have only heard about Children Protective Service’s failures or over aggressiveness, so it was nice to meet one of the actual workers and find out what her job and perceptions were really like.
