Oh the irony,

Spread the love

Today is the feast of St. Anthony of Padua. For some reason my father’s family had a huge devotion to him and even had a little chapel built on the family ranch. It is only used once a year, on this saint’s feast day. I had the opportunity to go once about 20 years ago and it was so nice to see all these family members I was coming to know, gather together for a special Catholic feast day like that.

Today my cousin, the one that defrauded my father and has caused my sister, my mother and I countless tears, time and money as we fight to regain some of this inheritance back, the one who stole a $70,000 certificate of deposit, will be sitting in that little chapel piously praying and celebrating just yards from the property she owns through fraud.

My sister and I, on the other side of the country will be moving my mother into a retirement home and helping her to feel comfortable.

Good St. Anthony, if there really is such a think as social justice, I hope that you will make a note of this!
