DYM is the winner of the Blogs of Beauty Award in the category of Best Humor. Unfortunately, some people don’t have one!.

The opening statement for the awards said:

There are a lot of great blogs out there that are not “big name” blogs and do not fit neatly into the categories of the Weblog Awards. Or perhaps a better way of saying it is that there are so many other smaller blogs written by women that should be honored for the terrific work they do. So, I decided to do something about it!

Introducing the 2005 Blogs of Beauty Awards!

The focus of these awards is honoring the female bloggers who bring beauty to the world of blogdom.

As far as I can tell, DYM meets all of those criteria! She is a smaller blog, written by a woman and obviously others felt she should be honored for the terrific job she does! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS SAID ABOUT RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION. That should be the end of the story.

Unfortunately every party has a pooper I guess:

So either the Christian voters ignorantly assumed she was a Christian (like I did initially), which is what I suspect, or–and this even scarier–they don’t realize that Mormonism denies the Deity of Christ and of his equality with The Father and the Holy Spirit in the trinity.

Uh, how about Christian voters ignorantly assumed that the contest criteria meant what it said – small blog, by a woman, doing terrific work?!!

Of course this same naysayer also has some rather negative things to say about Catholicism and has a habit of keeping down anything other than like minded thought and discussion.

With that in mind some ringing denouncements are more than enough encouragement for me to add a blog to my roll!!
