Spread the love

The Martha, Martha blog had a survey about blog rolls this week.   I thought of it as sort of an examination of conscience for blog owners!

Anyway, it made me want to say something about my blogroll.   I decided that I wanted to put things in my blogroll that I thought were interesting.  Could be about parenthood, or homeschooling, or housekeeping, or Catholicism, or even political.  I even have a dieting blog or two over there.  I had a couple of blogs that I thought were very well written and interesting, but the blogger used profanity so much I decided to take them out.   There are plenty of other good words to use that don’t start with “F”  know what I mean?

My blog also seems to be a bit ecumenical which is fine with me.  I like blogs from other faiths and I think The Modern Muslima and Bob Waters Blogs in particular are very worthwhile.

I don’t feel the need to read my blogroll blogs everyday.  I already know the type of postings and the quality in them and that’s enough for me.  I’m providing it more as a service to my readers as a way of pointing them to other things they might enjoy.

I have pulled blogs off of the blogroll.  Mainly if they had gone unused for a long time, but also if a Catholic blogger takes a stand firmly against a Catholic teaching, that’s something I just can’t abide.  It’s confusing for non-Catholics who don’t know what the church teaches, and it encourages further dissent amongst Catholics who do.  It was with a heavy heart that I removed two in the past 6 months for that reason, but I had to follow the dictates of my conscience.
