Well, the good news is Miss Rosie has slowed her weight loss and the pediatrician says she looks great. He’s not worried, but he wants to see her back next week. The bad news is that she didn’t gain any weight.

Gabe noticed yesterday that my gray hair is growing in a lovely Morticia style streak back the right side of my head. So on my right side in profile, I look 10-15 years older than on the left side. I was musing with my friend about that and she said, “well, that’s the boy’s side. The girls will start the streak on the other side!”

Dang… I think she’s right!!!

Miss Rosie and I have been inseperable, “lip to nip” for the past week, and I really expected high rewards – at least a miserable ounce or two in the upwards direction. Instead I’m settling for what she can give me, which at least isn’t more loss – but still I’m worried about why she isn’t gaining like her brothers, who I swear were able to extract pure cream from their nursing sessions. Those guys had creases in their fat little thighs where there weren’t any joints! Come to think of it, so did Izzy. So just as I am getting ready to rest on my “Breastfeeding Emeritus – Mom of Many” laurels, God throws this little one who is determined to be “petite” on my lap.

Sigh… well at least it takes my focus off of my incisional pain which is still haunting me 2 weeks post-op. What’s up with that?
