Terri Schiavo dies

Terri Schiavo is dead.

Dear God, I knew it was coming. But even yesterday I had hope. Hope in the judicial system, hope in the legislature, hope in one or the other of the executives.

And yet reading that it is done, over, finished made my heart ache, I caught my breath and I can’t help but cry for her, her family, all of the brave people who have fought so hard for her, and endured hardships and persecution, including all of the bloggers at Blogs for Terri, and the members of St. Blogs that still thought she was a person of enormous worth simply because God created her.

Dear Lord, I am so ashamed to be an American citizen right now I don’t know what to do with myself.

“vengeance is mine, Sayeth the Lord.”

I’m counting on it.
