The National Catholic Reporter

Spread the love

If there was any doubt before that the National Catholic Reporter was just a pseudoCatholic version of the National Enquirer Tabloid, this article on Dean Hudson should leave no doubt. Becareful reading it – it is definitely an R rated article in a “Catholic” publication. Lovely.

Look, I don’t care what Mr. Hudson did to whom as long as he didn’t lie about it, try to cover it up and as long as he has sincerely repented and received absolution. That’s our Catholic Tradition. St. Paul, Mary Magadeline, St. Augustine – all big sinners who made it over from the dark side and became powerful witnesses for the faithful in the church. One can only imagine the hatchet job Mr.

Joe Feuerherd, author of this tripe in sordid detail, would have done with Augustine’s wild lifestyle before his conversion!

The point however seems to me that this article was written with the sole purpose of sticking it to Mr. Hudson because he exposed Ono Ekeh and his involvement with Catholics for Kerry AND showed no remorse for Mr. Ekeh being out of a job with three children to support. This was about revenge – the fact that it also hurts President Bush is just icing on the cake to many anti-Bush Catholics I suppose.

I hope that when the Reporter arrives in subscribers’ homes it comes in a paper wrapper warning parents of children and teens that what they are about to read could have come right out of the Penthouse Forum. I hope there is an editorial on the necessity of dragging all of this in such detail out into the open after 9 years after the man has changed his life is explained. I sure would like to hear that myself. That and a rationalization on how this publication can do that and retain the word CATHOLIC in its title. I’d really like to hear that!
