Another post from Lilly on the BCCC board. Gotta give the girl hugs for trying, but I wonder why she is bothering now that I’m not allowed to respond or post?

Notice the fallacy of Ell’s statement here. She says 80% of abortions are due to contraceptive failure. That means 20% of the rest of the abortors aren’t using any ABC at all.

Uh… no. It means that 20% are due to other factors other than contraceptive failure. Detected birth defects come to mind. Health (physical or mental) of the mother is another.

Now, when I was researching fallacies, that was called an inductive fallacy. Since fallacies seem to be the moderator’s and the BCSITEMOD’s specialty, you’d think they would call her on it. At least you’d think they would wince when she pulls these blunders!

It does not mean that 80% of ABC users are having abortions, which is what this makes it appear to be.

That’s not what I wrote or even inferred.

Just thought I would point out some more Ellian fallacies. I will do this occassionally as time permits.
