Standing up to the School Board.

Mr. Pete and I went to the School Board Monday night to ask that our son be able to participate on the swim team. Boy do we feel stupid now!! I think them telling us the next step was to speak in front of the board was just their way of weeding out the people who are really serious from the people who are just mad. After Mr. Pete sat down, with his pulse still thumping wildly at his temples, they basically said – “you’ll be getting a letter from the superintendent shortly.” Uh… gave me the feeling that they have the “letter from the superintendent” already in memory back at the office just waiting for some nice secretary to change the date and stamp a signature. The next day the paper only reported that our school system is losing students and money hand over fist and they can’t figure out why. Duh!
